Business Development Manager
A leading provider of cell line development and bioprocess optimization services for the biopharmaceutical industry is seeking to expand its team.
As part of its expansion, the organization is looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive sales growth, build strategic partnerships, and increase brand visibility in the biopharma sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
- Develop and execute a commercial strategy to position the company as a preferred partner for cell line development and bioprocessing services.
- Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and industry research to refine sales approaches.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance visibility and generate new business.
- Identify and engage with biotech, biopharma, and CDMO clients to expand the company's market presence.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, R&D teams, and procurement managers.
- Design and implement a marketing strategy to enhance the company’s global presence in the biopharma sector.
- Create engaging content for digital marketing, including website updates, social media posts, white papers, and newsletters.
- Plan and execute email marketing campaigns, webinars, and virtual events.
- Coordinate the company’s presence at global biotech and CDMO conferences, ensuring impactful branding and networking.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Science, or a related field.
- Additional qualifications in Marketing, Business Administration, or Digital Marketing are an advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the biopharma, CDMO, or biotech industries.
- Strong understanding of cell line development, upstream processing, and biologics manufacturing.
- Experience in B2B marketing, digital lead generation, and event planning.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate across technical (scientific) and commercial (business) teams.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, marketing automation platforms, and social media marketing.
- Knowledge of cell line development, bioprocess development, downstream processing, and protein analysis.
- Understanding of protein expression with mammalian cell lines and analytical characterization of proteins.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills in English and German (written and spoken), with proficiency in additional languages a plus.
