Job description
Job Overview: We are seeking a strategic, creative, and results-driven Vice President, Copy to join our dynamic team at a leading market access agency. The VP of Copy will be responsible for overseeing the development of high-impact, medically accurate, and compelling content across multiple channels, ensuring that all written materials align with our clients' strategic objectives in the healthcare space.
This is a senior leadership position that requires a seasoned copywriting professional with a deep understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, particularly in the areas of market access, payer strategy, and patient services. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, a proven ability to manage creative teams, and the expertise to translate complex healthcare concepts into clear, engaging, and persuasive copy.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of copywriters and creative professionals to produce best-in-class content for a diverse portfolio of healthcare clients, with a particular focus on market access strategies.

Collaborate with senior leadership, account managers, and clients to develop and execute content strategies that support market access initiatives, including but not limited to payer communications, patient engagement, policy, and reimbursement.

Ensure that all written materials (e.g., promotional, educational, digital, and medical copy) are medically accurate, comply with regulatory guidelines, and resonate with target audiences (HCPs, payers, patients).

Oversee the creation of compelling content for a variety of formats, including websites, brochures, pitch decks, e-learning modules, social media campaigns, and more.

Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory requirements to keep content relevant and cutting-edge.

Partner with creative and strategy teams to develop integrated, cohesive campaigns that drive awareness and support client goals.

Work with cross-functional teams to ensure deadlines are met and the final product meets the highest creative and strategic standards.

Act as a client-facing leader to present and sell in creative concepts and strategies.

Provide oversight on creative briefs, ensuring that copy requirements are fully met and aligned with overall project goals.

Drive thought leadership by staying ahead of industry trends, offering innovative solutions, and helping clients navigate complex challenges in the market access landscape.
Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in copywriting or creative direction, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role within healthcare or pharmaceutical marketing (market access experience is strongly preferred).

Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of market access, payer communications, reimbursement processes, patient services, and healthcare policy.

Creative Excellence: A portfolio that demonstrates a deep understanding of creative strategy, copywriting, and the ability to translate complex concepts into simple, persuasive messaging.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a creative team, drive collaborative efforts, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative concepts and strategies to clients and internal teams.

Education: Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
