Job Title: Senior Medical Director – Oncology

About the Role:
BioTalent is delighted to partner with a leading global pharmaceutical company in their search for an experienced Senior Medical Director – Oncology. This exciting opportunity focuses on late-phase clinical development (Phase III and Real-World Evidence [RWE]) and medical affairs responsibilities within the oncology therapeutic area.

Based in Massachusetts with a flexible hybrid working model, this role will play a crucial part in driving innovative oncology programs, shaping medical strategy, and ensuring the successful execution of critical clinical and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Development (Phase III & RWE)

  • Lead the design, execution, and oversight of late-phase clinical trials in oncology, ensuring scientific rigor and alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and review clinical development plans, study protocols, investigator brochures, and clinical study reports for oncology programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory, clinical operations, and biostatistics, to deliver high-quality clinical trial outcomes.
  • Drive RWE initiatives to generate post-approval data that supports regulatory submissions, payer value discussions, and healthcare decision-making in oncology.
  • Represent the organization in discussions with regulatory agencies, providing medical expertise and leadership in oncology clinical trials.

Medical Affairs

  • Develop and execute medical affairs strategies to support oncology product launches, lifecycle management, and commercialization.
  • Lead engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs), oncology advocacy groups, and other stakeholders to drive scientific exchange and alignment.
  • Provide medical expertise for promotional activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Represent the company at oncology-focused scientific conferences, advisory boards, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with marketing, market access, and commercial teams to align scientific and business objectives.

Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished oncology expert with a passion for driving late-phase clinical development and medical affairs excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MD or equivalent medical qualification, with oncology board certification or significant oncology clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years of clinical development and/or medical affairs experience in the oncology field within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
    • Proven leadership in designing and executing Phase III oncology trials and managing RWE initiatives.
    • Experience in regulatory submissions and oncology product launches is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of oncology drug development, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.
