Job description

The Role:

This engineer will lead efforts to optimize manufacturability by assessing both new and existing tools, oversee projects from initial concept to full production, and support the pricing and quoting process to deliver cost-effective yet profitable solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for custom customer projects.
  • Manage order processing, ensuring terms align with quotes and all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Analyze customer data files and blueprints to prepare competitive bids and proposals, including tooling costs, piece pricing, and secondary operations.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates for product manufacturing and ensure supplier-provided tooling meets production efficiency requirements.
  • Review and approve tool designs and design changes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all products, tooling, and related project details.
  • Monitor order progress, expedite requests, and keep customers informed of order status.
  • Ensure customer history folders, pricing data, and related records are accurately filed and accessible.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth project setup and verify tooling functionality during production.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in custom injection molding.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Plastics Engineering or a related field.
  • Expertise in mold building, raw materials, equipment, and molding processes.
  • Proficiency in IQMS and design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
