Job TitleMaintenance & EHS Coordinator

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced EHS Coordinator to oversee and manage safety procedures and ensure compliance across multiple projects. The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety procedures, conducting safety audits, and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees during the commissioning phase. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management, particularly in LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance within the industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing sectors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update relevant safety procedures, documentation, and risk analyses.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Keep the project team informed of any changes in safety-related legislation and implement these changes within procedures.
  • Provide training on safety procedures and ensure all employees complete relevant safety courses.
  • Approve and review procedures for separation of operational and mechanical systems to ensure safety during operations.
  • Raise awareness of potentially hazardous activities and systems (e.g., steam blows, power supply systems) to the project team.
  • Facilitate communication across teams regarding safety issues, ensuring effective coordination throughout the commissioning phase.
  • Conduct periodic safety audits to ensure adherence to procedures such as Permit to Work (PTW) and LOTO
  • Manage safety documentation, including audit records, incident reports, and safety registers.
  • Support the continuation of safety incentive programs (e.g., raffles, suggestion boxes) to foster a culture of safety.
  • Report and document any accidents or incidents that occur during the commissioning process.

 

Candidate Profile:

Education: Technical degree or higher in safety, engineering, mechanical, or industrial fields. EHS certifications are a plus

 

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an EHS, Maintenance or Planning role, preferably in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial production environment.

 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including EHS codes and industry standards.
  • Experience with safety audits, risk management, and safety training.
  • Ability to define and optimize process flows and cross-process relations.
  • Fluent in English and German (B1/B2 level or higher).
