Group Leader Upstream Process Development

BioTalent are currently supporting a small CDMO based in Maryland, to search for a Team Leader within Upstream Process Development. As the Team Leader in Upstream Process Development, you will take a leading role in early and late stage process development of mammalian cell culture processes.

This role will offer you:

You will be responsible for:

  • Lead development of robust and scalable upstream mammalian cell culture processes for biologics in different stages of clinical development.
  • Advance upstream processes by improving efficiency and cost effectiveness through research and innovation, while assessing technologies and industry best practices.
  • Lead projects across tech transfer, manufacturing support and process validation for successful commercialization.
  • Work with senior leadership to set overall project strategy for Upstream Process Development and take a leading role in guiding execution.

You will bring the following:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Biopharmaceutical sciences or similar life science discipline (PhD is preferred), along with industry experience working as a subject matter expert in cell culture process development.
  • Expertise with a variety of Bioreactors such as, AMBR, XDR and BioBlu.
  • Experience with a variety of mammalian cell lines / expression systems will be highly desirable.
