Job Summary

Job Summary
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing repairs on surgery devices and equipment. Job Summary
- Travel to customers location to perform equipment service inspections, installations, maintenance activities, and trainings as required.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation that details field activity (FSR's), expenses, and other information as required.
- Collaborate with Supervisor on scheduling of equipment calibrations and PM services; must be willing to accommodate a flexible schedule when required.
- Build and maintain outstanding customer relationships, provide excellent service and technical support for all equipment offerings ensuring calibration and preventative maintenance is completed as scheduled according to service agreements and/or maintenance orders.
- Test and measure finished products, components, or devices for function, operation, and accuracy to verify adherence to functional specifications according to established procedures and as directed by Supervisor and/or manufacturer.
- Troubleshoot, and adjust or repair, products, components, or parts. Disassemble defective parts and components and install or connect new or replacement components per established procedures and/or manuals.
- Generate and file all test and validation reports, including scrap data, per established procedures.
- Coordinate the handling of customer returned product and/or damaged goods; investigate inspection protocols and basic contract provisions with respect to product warranties.
- Record and report on findings; Provide interpretive commentary and analysis as necessary.
- Provide input to statistical analysis for Quality meetings, process or product evaluations, and product qualifications as directed by Supervisor and/or manufacturer.
- Provide input for preventative and corrective actions program (CAPA) regarding product design, process control and continual improvement.
- Partner with manufacturer and internal procurement teams to identify equipment needs for repair supplies, components, or special equipment. Monitor inventory levels of Technical Service supplies for accuracy and replenishment.
- Maintain Technical Service department and equipment to 6S lean methods (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety).
- Assist the warehouse team with any warehouse-related actions as needed (picking, packing, shipping, receiving, cleaning, inspection, cycle counts).
- Support management by performing projects and other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
- Provide support to other departments as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent working experience as mechanic, technician, or engineering-type role
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanics, electronics or engineering preferred
- Experience with hand tools, power tools and measuring devices
- Some previous QC or technical experience
- Prefer experience in medical device industry, including experience with in-service/field work
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Customer service oriented
- Able to work independently or in team
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time appropriately
- Punctual, reliable and flexible
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Inventory control software (i.e. ERP) experience preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary
- Must be able to travel for work, between 50-70% to include overnight and multi-day travel
- Must be able to lift, pull and push up to 40 lbs
- Requires ability to move freely throughout facility (including walking up and down stairs or ladders, and through tight and congested areas)
