Compensation: 65-110k
Job Overview:

The Equipment  & Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving production equipment and fixturing. This role includes administering and executing preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and enhance production efficiency. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, a strong team player, and possess excellent communication skills to work cross-functionally with operations teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Perform both corrective and preventive maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Maintain and manage the spare parts inventory to support production needs.

- Continuously improve equipment and automation processes to reduce labor, cycle time, and waste while enhancing efficiency.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with production equipment, including PLC code, defective control modules, and mechanical parts.

- Collaborate with teams to specify, review designs, conduct factory acceptance testing, and install custom automated equipment.

- Interface with external vendors to resolve equipment issues and ensure smooth operations.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Associate’s degree in Electro-Mechanical, Controls, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of automated manufacturing systems, including mechanical equipment (motors, gears, belts, couplings), pneumatics (air compressors, actuators), PLCs, robotics, and basic electrical systems.

- Proficient in PLC and robotic programming, with specific experience in Allen-Bradley/RSLogix preferred.

- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and automation design specifications.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management applications.

- Experience in an ISO/GMP environment is preferred.

- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Experience in technical documentation and training.

- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout procedures, machine guarding requirements, and general safety protocols.
