Director, Clinical Operations

We're partnered with a public, clinical-stage company focused on developing new cancer therapies using targeted medicine to recruit a talented Director to lead their Clinical Operations function.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee one or more clinical programs. You will provide strategic direction and manage all aspects of the program, including budget, resources, and development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team to ensure successful execution of clinical trials, meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
  • Manage vendors and partners involved in the clinical trials.
  • Identify and solve problems that may arise during the trial.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders about the program's progress.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Manage program budgets and contracts.
  • Ensure all clinical trials comply with regulations and best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise for clinical documents and protocols.
  • Lead team initiatives and support cross-functional projects.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve clinical trial processes.
  • Coach and mentor team members.
  • Travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, nursing, or pharmacy (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in clinical operations, with at least 8 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience managing and leading clinical teams.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly with oncology clinical trials, is a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage high-performing teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of clinical trial regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with project management and complex timelines.
  • Ability to problem-solve, delegate tasks, and mentor team members.
