Overall Role Purpose:

The role of the Business Development Manager (BDM) is essential in driving growth by overseeing the new product launch process across multiple regions, ensuring efficient and successful market entry. The BDM is responsible for conducting in-depth analysis and forecasting to identify new product opportunities that align with current market trends and organizational goals. The role includes managing a product portfolio to balance existing and new products, optimizing their performance and profitability. Additionally, the BDM coordinates with external partners and vendors to ensure smooth collaboration and supports business intelligence efforts by gathering and analyzing market data to inform strategic decision-making and enhance competitive positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update business cases for new products in collaboration with relevant teams and submit them to corporate or third-party entities.

  • Oversee project management to ensure timely and successful product launches.

  • Participate in regular global coordination calls and follow up on action items.

  • Lead internal review meetings, responding to inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Conduct analyses of new product opportunities, both in-house and through third-party vendors.

  • Collaborate with corporate teams to introduce products into the development process.

  • Assist in periodic forecasting reviews for the existing product portfolio every six months.

  • Manage third-party products from agreement signing through to launch.

  • Provide administrative and project management support as required.

  • Gather business intelligence related to competitive scenarios affecting new product opportunities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Ensure business cases are prepared accurately and on time.

  • Review and update business cases regularly with relevant stakeholders.

  • Keep forecasts updated with market and competitive data.

  • Successfully manage multiple product initiatives.

  • Ensure the timely launch of third-party products.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

Education (Essential):

  • A degree in a relevant field such as pharmaceuticals or science.

  • Proficiency in Excel and business analytics tools.

Work Experience (Essential):

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical product planning in a commercial setting.

  • Proven experience in project management.

  • Experience in coordinating with a range of stakeholders in a corporate environment.
