Job description
A dynamic, early-stage medical device company is developing a revolutionary catheter-based therapy. We are seeking a versatile and motivated individual to join our team and contribute across multiple areas, including product design, preclinical studies, early-stage manufacturing, and quality systems. The R&D Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing our innovative technology platform and improving patient outcomes.
This role will involve driving the development of the next-generation catheter product, encompassing product design, preclinical assessments, design verification, pilot manufacturing, collaboration with contract manufacturers, and support for clinical trials. The R&D Engineer will convert user needs and requirements into practical design solutions, rigorously document design and testing data, and work closely with the technical team to make data-driven decisions and contribute to intellectual property efforts.
As part of a small, collaborative, and mission-driven team, the R&D Engineer will play a key role in shaping a transformative medical technology. This position is based near Paris, France.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in medical device development (4+ years preferred).
- Proven experience in guiding medical devices through design control stages, from concept to clinical application.
- Proficiency in several areas, such as catheter-based device design, ultrasound technology, preclinical testing, pilot manufacturing, contract manufacturing partnerships, and clinical trial support.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive, adaptable mindset.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for engagements with engineering partners and clinical sites
