We have been tasked with finding a stand-alone IT Specialist, collaborating with a specialised IT unit based in the US and managing external facility providers expectations, including resolving technical issues, performing hardware and software installations, and maintaining system documentation.

BioTalent Ltd are acting as an employment agency in relation to this opportunity.
We have been tasked with finding a stand-alone IT Specialist, collaborating with a specialised IT unit based in the US and managing external facility providers expectations, including resolving technical issues, performing hardware and software installations, and maintaining system documentation.
You will be responsible for:
- Technical support to end-users (virtual and in-person).
- Establishing, configuring and maintaining operating systems and software apps.
- Carrying out hardware replacements and enhancements as and when necessary.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues (computers, laptops, printers and more).
- Project planning and operational improvement activities.
- Main POC for management of server issues, laptop configuration and additional IT bottlenecks.
- Design and deployment of infrastructure plans - standardisation, management, technology plans.
- Internal and external audit management - licensing compliance, disaster recovery plans, etc.
- Vendor relationship identification and management - infrastructure components, availability and adherence to SLAs, etc.
- End-user training and support on various software applications.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and standard procedures.
- BSc degree in an IT related field or equivalent industrial experience.
- Experience with hands-on IT and Data Centre infrastructure.
- Sound knowledge of IT/IS operational functions - data and telecom proficiency.
- Experience with technical network management (internet, intranet and extranet protocols).
- Experience with LAN & WAN configuration and infrastructure best practise.
- Technical knowledge of Windows OS - O365.
- Understanding of internet operating protocols and security.
