Position: Biomedical Scientist – Histology
Location: London, NW1
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week (with weekend rota participation)

As a Biomedical Scientist, you will help provide accurate and timely histopathology services, working closely with the team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, book in, and process specimens with accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform specimen cut-up, staining, and dispatching in line with quality standards.
• Ensure quality control and maintain the accuracy of work output.
• Archive samples and maintain proper documentation.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and safe laboratory procedures.
• Perform specimen dissection (subject to competency and training).

Requirements:

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (BMS) and member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS).
• At least 2 years of post-state registration experience in histology.
• Experience in microtomy, embedding, and histological techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory-based IT systems and accreditation processes.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to personal CPD and patient confidentiality.
