Title: Project I&C Lead
Location: Indiana (Hybrid) Minimum 1 week a month in Indiana during the basic/detailed design phase of the project. Opportunity for full-time onsite support during various phases of construction and verification activities.

Purpose of the Role:
- The Project I&C Lead will be the client representative in the design, construction, and verification phases of one of the projects within the overall LMF program. Specifications and design details are being developed by an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and this role is to provide technical oversight of the
- EPC, review and approve documents (specifications, drawings, etc.), and in general represent the client’s interests for a specific project (e.g. Small Molecule, Biologics etc.).
- During the design phase, the I&C lead will guide and review/approve the technical outputs and activities of the EPC. The I&C lead is also responsible for reviewing process design changes and performing impact evaluations for ongoing efforts already in progress.
- Align with engineering to establish requirements for the instrumentation and control systems by developing an understanding of the process engineering design by working closely with process engineers and representatives.
- Technically lead and oversee the work and work products that the EPC produces, including component specifications, wiring details, panel design, mechanical installation details, DeltaV control systems, BMS control systems, MCC and VFD control interfacing.
- Interface regularly with the other discipline leads, other Project I&C Leads and Project Management.
- Provide instrument expertise within the process of reviewing/approving instruments for purchase, including oversight of discrepancy resolution during receipt verification efforts.
- Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements and approve I&C components within.
- Provide input and feedback to develop integrated schedule across multiple work fronts.
- Identify deviations in job scope and estimate magnitude of changes.
- Identify key areas of concern and risk for project and develop mitigation plans to remove or lessen the impact.
- Provide technical support by leading and directing efforts during start-up. This includes field troubleshooting, installation/construction oversight, device configurations, calibration activities, etc.
- BS Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3 years in industry engineering, operations, or manufacturing with deep technical experience related to manufacturing (biotechnology/pharmaceutical/chemical).
- At least 5 years of experience as an instrumentation and controls lead on a site or large capital projects.
- Knowledge and understanding of instrumentation specifications as they relate to measurement capability and overall loop performance/accuracy.
- Preferrable, familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, pdf editor, and presentation programs.
- Experience with interpreting instrument loop diagrams, motor/drive schematics, relay logic circuits, and general low voltage power distribution.
- Experience with P&ID development and participating in P&ID reviews alongside other disciplines. Ability to recognize and resolve problems associated with I&C representation on P&IDs.
- Experience with representing I&C in model reviews.
- Knowledge of hazardous location wiring methods and practices as related to NEC.
- Familiar with process control systems (PLC’s, DCS hardware, etc.) and experience working closely with process automation personnel to design and commission system hardware.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of GMP’s, regulatory requirements, equipment commissioning and qualification.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
