Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Information Director with a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both English and Japanese and possess line management experience. This role will be responsible for overseeing the medical information team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality scientific and medical information to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management

    • Lead and develop the Medical Information team, providing coaching, training, and career development.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Establish performance metrics and ensure the team meets key objectives.
  • Medical Information Strategy & Operations

    • Develop and implement medical information strategies to support company products.
    • Ensure the timely and accurate dissemination of medical and scientific information to healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders.
    • Manage responses to complex medical inquiries, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical guidelines.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Commercial teams to align medical information activities with company objectives.
    • Provide insights from medical information inquiries to support strategic decision-making.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

    • Ensure all medical information activities comply with global and local regulations, including industry standards (e.g., ICH, GVP, FDA, PMDA).
    • Maintain a high level of scientific integrity and ensure medical responses are evidence-based and up to date.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as a key liaison between internal teams and external healthcare professionals.
    • Support medical education initiatives and scientific communication efforts.

Key Requirements

  • Language: Native or fluent proficiency in English and Japanese (spoken and written).
  • Education: Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field (PharmD, PhD, MD preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Information, Medical Affairs, or a related function.
    • Line management experience, including mentoring and leading teams.
    • Strong understanding of global and Japanese pharmaceutical regulations (e.g., PMDA, FDA, EMA).
    • Experience handling complex medical inquiries and developing high-quality medical content.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
