About the Role
We’re seeking a Bioarchive Manager to oversee the daily operations of a human tissue repository. You will play a vital role in ensuring that biological samples are acquired, stored, annotated, and distributed to support high-impact R&D programmes.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage procurement, registration, storage, and distribution of biological samples in line with SOPs
• Maintain biospecimen inventory using LIMS, ensuring accuracy and traceability
• Uphold compliance with HTA, GDPR, and research ethics standards
• Conduct regular audits and support external inspections
• Collaborate with research teams and external providers to ensure efficient sample flow
• Lead process improvements and mentor staff to maintain best practices
Requirements
• Degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Previous experience working with human tissue samples in a research or industry setting
• Strong knowledge of biospecimen handling and quality compliance (HTA/GDPR)
• Proficiency with LIMS or similar biobank/sample management systems
• Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
