BioTalent is excited to announce its partnership with Zug Pharma Group for an upcoming networking event on 7th November, designed to bring together key figures in the Life Sciences industry. As a leader in recruitment, BioTalent is not just another Life Science agency. Our roots lie in an organically grown business model that prioritises functional industry expertise, a solution-oriented mindset, and a core commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). Whether supporting permanent or contract/interim hires, we believe in creating tailored solutions for our clients, grounded in a deep understanding of the Life Sciences sector.
This event is a perfect opportunity for business leaders and professionals in the industry to connect and engage with peers, share insights, and foster new relationships. It also marks an exciting step forward for our collaboration with Zug Pharma Group, a community-led organisation that has become a cornerstone for professionals in Zug, Switzerland.
We had the opportunity to catch up with Dominic (Dom) Pritchard, BioTalent's Regional Director for Switzerland and a key figure in this collaboration. Last year Dom relocated to Zug and has since become a central part of its professional community. With a robust background in medicine and life sciences recruitment, Dom brings a wealth of experience to this partnership. Learn more about Dom’s professional journey.
Here’s what Dom had to say about the partnership and the upcoming event:
Can you tell us more about the BioTalent and Zug Pharma partnership?
Dom: In September 2023, my wife, cat and I relocated to Zug and haven't looked back. In my first week I was invited along to the Zug Pharma Group meet up through a client. Interestingly, I was their 500th member, which led to a quick introduction to the group’s founders, Marc and Karen. They, along with many others, warmly welcomed me as an expat and shared invaluable tips and tricks for settling into life in Zug. What struck me was the strong sense of community - they made me feel right at home. Over time, I continued attending the group’s monthly meet-ups, connecting with other professionals in the pharmaceutical sector who were facing the same challenges and opportunities. This sense of belonging is what led us to this exciting collaboration between BioTalent and Zug Pharma Group.
Why is this event important for the market in Zug?
Dom: The Zug Pharma Group is a community-led initiative, which creates a safe space for individuals to share their ideas, seek advice, and lean on each other’s experiences. This is particularly important in a place like Zug, where much of the Life Sciences workforce is made up of expats. Having a trusted network of people who have walked the same path and are willing to share their knowledge is invaluable. This event provides an opportunity for individuals to engage with like-minded professionals, grow their connections, and explore new opportunities in the Life Sciences field.
Can you share more about the Life Sciences industry in Zug? What is the market like?
Dom: Zug remains a commercially viable hub for Life Sciences companies, both large and small. It has become a stronghold where businesses can develop and expand. This creates a snowball effect - Zug continues to attract new investments, cultivate innovation, and draw in new businesses. The result is an ever-growing workforce that supports these companies, making Zug one of the most dynamic and competitive markets in the global Life Sciences industry.
How can people get involved in the event?
Dom: If you’re living or working in Zug or surrounding cantons - or even if you’re just interested in engaging and becoming part of this community - you can join the Whatsapp group by getting referred in by an existing member or you can search Zug Pharma Group on LinkedIn and request to join. The WhatsApp group is split down into sub-groups and you can join in on whichever suits your interest. Here members engage more directly on topics and on a more personal level whilst not bombarding the other groups. It’s such an open and welcoming group, and we encourage anyone in the Life Sciences industry to join us.
What advice would you give to those looking for new roles in Life Sciences in Zug?
Dom: My advice is simple: network, ask questions, and adopt a multi-faceted approach to job searching. Zug is a highly competitive market, but with the right drive, attitude, and aptitude, you can certainly succeed. Take the time to build relationships, understand the local industry landscape, and be proactive in seeking opportunities.
This collaboration between BioTalent and Zug Pharma Group marks an important milestone in bridging connections within the Life Sciences sector. Whether you're a business leader or a professional looking to make new connections, this event on 7th November is a fantastic opportunity to network, share insights, and explore what the future holds for the industry in Zug.
Stay tuned for more updates, and we look forward to seeing you there!
