Location: Tornesch or Wedel with remote working policy (60% remote)

Job Description
As an Indirect Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the dynamic procurement team, spearheading strategic initiatives for sourcing indirect categories. We are seeking a passionate individual with a strong strategic procurement background who wants to drive impactful change within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for designated categories, with a focus on setting the right supply base and negotiating contracts to achieve cost reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and value creation within the company, while maintaining a total cost ownership (TCO) perspective.
  • Lead efforts to assess and mitigate the impact of cost reduction initiatives on other steps in the value chain, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, both domestically and internationally, with a supply base primarily located in Central Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
  • Drive operational excellence within the procurement function, transitioning towards a more strategic approach and enhancing collaboration across the organization.

Qualifications
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in developing sourcing strategies to achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Familiarity with operational procurement processes and willingness to drive change towards a more strategic operating model.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluent in German (intermediate level) and English, with proficiency in internal documentation and standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10-20% of the time) to production sites and suppliers.
